Chat game not working? Check these first

Most problems come down to a few causes, and you can usually fix them in a couple of minutes without restarting your stream. Start with the symptom that matches what you see.

The game doesn't appear in OBS

  • Check the layer order. In the Sources list, the browser source has to sit above your game and camera. If it's lower down, the game runs but stays hidden.
  • Check the eye icon. A hidden source doesn't show, even if everything else is right.
  • Refresh the source. Open the source's properties and click Refresh cache of current page.
  • Check the address. Copy it again from your own account on the setup page. The address is personal, so another channel's address won't react to your chat.
  • Check the size. Set the source to 1920 × 1080. With a different size, the game can look too small or get cut off.

The game shows, but nobody can play

  • Is queue mode on? If someone typed the queue command, new players wait instead of dropping. A moderator can release them with the release command or clear everything with the reset command.
  • Is it the right command? Your channel may have a custom command name. The commands page explains the defaults, and your own list is under Commands in your dashboard.
  • Is the chat connected? Open your dashboard and check the channel status. It shows whether the connection is working, so you don't have to guess.
  • Is the viewer on cooldown? Most commands have a short wait per viewer, and the bot explains a real failure in chat when a recognised command doesn't go through.
  • Did you sign in with the right platform? A channel on Kick and a channel on Twitch are separate, even with the same name. If you stream on both, link the accounts.

Plinko or Roulette doesn't react

Each of these has its own browser source. Adding Parachute Drop doesn't add them. Copy their addresses from the setup page and add them as separate sources.

  • Roulette is only available while its source is connected. Hiding the source or closing OBS turns the game off shortly afterwards.
  • Plinko only takes points when the channel has Arcade Points on. If a viewer is refused, the chat line says why, for example that they don't have enough points or that the amount is below your minimum.

The source stops when you change scenes

By default, OBS keeps browser sources running in every scene you add them to. Two options in the source's properties change that:

  • Shutdown source when not visible closes the page when the source isn't shown, which can drop the game's connection.
  • Refresh browser when scene becomes active reloads the game every time you switch to the scene.

If rounds disappear when you change scenes, turn both of these off.

The game looks blurry or the wrong size

  • Don't resize the source by dragging its corners. Set its width and height in the properties, then position it.
  • Keep the scale at 100% if you can. A source that's stretched to a different shape can make pixel art look soft.
  • The score isn't affected by size. Landings are judged by the game itself, so a small overlay scores the same as a large one.

You showed your overlay address on stream

The key at the end of your address lets your channel submit scores, so treat it like a password. If it leaks, renew it on the setup page. The old address stops working at once. Then paste the new address into OBS.

Still stuck?

Try the test drop on the setup page. If it shows on the preview but not in OBS, the problem is in OBS. If it doesn't show on the preview either, write to us from the contact page and tell us your platform, what you expected and what happened. Please don't send your overlay address or any passwords.
